MOD '07The third annual Mitsubishi Owner's Day on July 14th was a roaring success! Held at our facilities in Cypress, California, it was a huge "thank you" party for some of the most enthusiastic owners in the world. More than one thousand brand lovers and hundreds of Mitsubishi vehicles gathered this year with the longest distance traveled by a an owner, who drove all the way from Ohio! More than 28 special vendor booths exhibited aftermarket/performance products and some rare Mitsubishis were on display. Several lucky participants won great giveaways donated by the vendors and two custom trophies designed by MRDA were given out for Best in Show won by Richard Espinoza with a wide body Galant and Dyno Competition winner, Chris Pike, with a Lancer Evolution VIII.
This year's event featured a spectacular line-up of vehicles including the Lancer 1600 GSR, winner of the 1974 Safari Rally, a Dakar Rally-winning Pajero from the past as well as the Raider, the 2006 Baja 1000 Class winner. A Mitsubishi 500 (1962) was also on site and set a historical contrast to some of the hottest concept and competition cars around including the Prototype X.
Dave O'Connell hosted the event as the Master of Ceremonies and was warmly welcomed by the 1,800 attendees.
The third annual Mitsubishi Owner's Day also raised $3,800 for the non-profit organization D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education). Mitsubishi representatives distributed safety information about the important role that booster seats play in preventing injuries and gave away over 120 child booster seats as part of their ongoing partnership with the national non-profit organization, Kids Safety First. All in all, a most successful and enjoyable day. Thanks to all who attended.
